Minor Peewee Blue, 2010-2011, MD (Kitchener Minor Hockey)

Congratulations to our team for winning the 2011 John MacDonald Memorial Hockey Tournament this past weekend. Our boys played exceptional beating Oakridge 4-0, Hamilton Phantoms 5-0 and Burlington 1-0 in round robin play. In the semi-finals we met St Catharines and won 7-2. In the championship game we faced the Brantford Saints and beat them 6-3. It was an exciting weekend to watch how our team has progressed throughout the year!! The boys earned to be Champions as they were the best team in the tournament!  Next stop Alliance Championships!!!  Lets go get it!!! 

Congratulations to all of our boys on a great effort at the Empire State Cup. Our boys brought home the gold beating Rochester Americans 4-1, Portland Pirates 5-2 and Clifton Park N.Y. 2-1 in round robin play finishing first. As a result we played Portland once again in the final game winning 6-1. Once again Congratulations Boys you all derserved it!!!! My days with hair are now numbered. James bring your clippers to practice Thursday!!!Coach Jeff 

I hope the boys enjoyed the surprise visit of Matt Tipoff and Jason Akeson to practice. Its not very often that you have the OHL scoring leader out to have a little fun with.  I am sure everyone enjoyed it and Jeff Schwartz will be putting photo's up in our gallery. Please take a look. Any photo's that you would like posted send them to Jeff and he'll put them on. I would also like to congratulate and thank the boys for all their hard work and effort over the last month. I would like to congratulate the boys on a well played tournament this past weekend in Pittsburgh. Although we didn't come out on top in our games the boys will remember the swimming and nerf gun fights forever. They bonded well together and isn't funny...when I asked about 5 or 6 boys what they like about the weekend none of them mentioned hockey....it was all about being with new friends and having fun. As parents we need to take a step back and enjoy the fact that all our boys are able to play hockey and develop friendships that may last for their entire lifetime. Enjoy...as this will not ...
