Tigers make their mark at Thunder Classic
The Tigers arrived at the Neil Barker Tournament on Friday, January 18 and quickly made their mark.
With a solid win over Newmarket, the team followed up with another win in the afternoon over a second Newmarket team. The team continued with its terrific play on Saturday morning, earning a bye to the semis on Sunday by defeating a well-coached, strong Oakville team. The game was close until the Tigers got on a roll and never looked back. Cycling the puck, great pressure in the offensive zone and solid defence with both goalies shutting the door, put the Tigers in second place going into the semis with 17 goals for and only 2 against in the tournament.
In the Sunday morning semi Kitchener played a terrific game against Waterloo with it going down to a shoot out after a five minute overtime period. The final shooter for Waterloo ended the Tiger's hopes of going to the final but the boys played a great tournament with every player contributing.
