SMALL boys with BIG hearts!
The Junior Rangers showed they have Big hearts and true Christmas spirit this holiday season.
On Monday, December 9th, the Novice Red team sported their hockey jerseys and Santa hats and went shopping. They weren't shopping for hockey skates, sticks and pucks but were shopping instead for 2 families that wouldn't have much under their tree this Christmas. The boys adopted two families through Family and Children Services of Waterloo Region. Using the profits from selling Rheo Thompson mint smoothies, the boys used the money to buy much needed gifts for these two families. The boys never once asked for anything themselves during this shopping trip and actually wanted to spend their own money to help out the 2 families that were chosen. Needless to say, the boys made their parents very proud, but more importantly they realized the importance of helping others. Although the two families will now have gifts under their tree, the boys actually were the ones who received the best gift of all - the gift of feeling fulfilled for giving unconditionally... nothing that a goal or a win on the ice could ever replace.
