Last but definitely not least, Sadie has earned the Gold Jersey all year and I am proud and sad to see her finally get it. Proud because Sadie has been a great leader this year.  In the beginning I saw her helping other girls and starting our team cheer.  Throughout the year she has shown her leadership by working hard and being aggressive on the puck.  I don't believe in picking captains or assistant captains at this age but in my eyes Sadie has been the leader of this team in a lot of ways.  Sad to see her finally get the jersey as it means our year is coming to an end. 

Emma has played solid defence all year long, soaking in the tips that we give her with a smile and never afraid to ask for advice.  She came up from novice to play in the Atom division but I don't think anybody who watches her play would guess it.  We are proud of Emma and all of our girls this year.

I think we can all agree it is fun to watch Brielle fly around the ice.  It was also very rewarding to watch Brielle play position this weekend like never before, earning her the gold Jersey. I thought the weekend was a great success.  After the first two periods of the tournament we played position, played as a team and were hard on the puck. 

Courtney has been one of our best positional players all year, get to the puck and has figured out the breakout.  A couple of lapses and not being hard on the puck cost us this weekend but sometimes the hard way is the only way to learn.  I am proud our girls, they have come a long way individually and as a team. We have a tournament this weekend and look forward to seeing the girls get out there and have fun. As I have said fun is number one.  

Jenna, Jenna, Jenna.  I saw her lead the cheer before the game.  When she played center this week she was skating hard for the puck and had a couple chances around their net that earned her the Gold Jersey this week.  I thought everyone played good today winning a lot of the little battles.  I will continue to preach about positioning but their were so many positives in this last game it is hard to focus on the little things that we could improve on.  Goal scoring is still eluding us but we had a lot of chances at the net and practices will start to focus more on the skills to get that ...
