Rangers finish 2-2-0 at Sensplex Tournament
Your Jr. Rangers split their four games over the weekend finishing 2-2-0 competing with some of the top teams in Ontario. The boys opened the weekend vs the Hillcrest Canadiens. Both teams exchanged goals early. As the game continued the Rangers began to outchance the Canadiens leading to a 3-2 win in a tight knit opener.
The boys second game was against the #1 ranked Mississauga North Stars. The Rangers got themselves in penalty trouble and the Stars responded with 3 powerplay goals. The Rangers outchanced and outworked the Stars in the 3rd period but could not solve the goalie giving the Stars a 5-0 win over a very short Ranger bench.
The Rangers opened Saturday Afternoon with a game vs. the Yellowknife Wolfpack. The Wolfpack came out hard and worked themselves into a 2 goal lead. The Rangers began to work the offensive cycle and outchanced the Wolfpack leading to a goal to put the score to 2-1 The Wolfpack finished with 2 goals including an empty netter in a very close, fast paced game.
In the evening game vs. the Toronto Aeros the Rangers found themselves pressuring the Aeros right from the initial puck drop. The Rangers outchanced, and outworked the Aeors and despite some penalty trouble the Rangers skated to a 5-1 win over the Aeros.
