Round 2 - LLFHL 2016/2017
The Kitchener Lady Rangers faced the Owen Sound Ice Hawks in Round “2” of the LLFHL playoffs.

Heading up to Owen Sound, the ladies came out flat during the first two periods but managed to take a 0 – 0 tie into the break. A different team emerged in the third. The ladies dominated play and outshot the Hawks throughout the first thirteen minutes and fifty seconds. Unfortunately, the game remains a full “42” minutes. With 1:10 left in the third, one of the Hawks few shots of the period somehow found “eyes” and squeezed into the net.

Four days later the Hawks travelled to the Activa Sportsplex for game two. In a reversal of periods, the ladies played a strong first and second and again took a “tie” into the third.  As all good things must come to an end, the Hawks scored three unanswered third period goals to win the game and the series. On behalf of all the Lady Rangers players, parents and staff, congratulations to the Hawks on a well-deserved round two victory. Best of luck in round three!

Ladies Bill, Dave, Sarah, Tim and I remain proud of all your efforts this season. The amount of significant sickness and injury was honestly second to none. The number of games you played “multiple players short” was truly “incredible”. You have remained competitive throughout and we continue to believe that when you come to play the way you can, you will compete with anyone in the Province. Thanks for all of your continued efforts and congratulations on a great LLFHL season!
