First Game of the Season
The Kitchener Jr Rangers Major Peewee Select team played their first game of the season against the Burlington Bulldogs on Friday October 27th.
The Rangers worked hard in all three zones and followed their game plan. In the first period the Rangers were on the defensive during their first penalty kill. All players were working hard to keep the puck out of their end. They eventually moved the puck up the ice and Spencer Smith scored the first goal of the game which was short handed.
The Rangers continued to hold off the Burlington Bulldogs, and were taking lots of shots on the net, but the Bulldogs goalie was not letting any pucks by. With only two minutes remaining in the third period both teams were battling hard. The Bulldogs pulled their goalie to gain an extra man, but the Rangers kept battling and Brock Smith skated hard down the ice to secure the win by scoring the second goal of the game.
Riley Cassidy was solid in net and earned his first shut out of the season!
The coaches are very proud of the effort put forth by all members of the team!
The Rangers are looking forward to their next game on Wednesday November 1st against the Halton Hills Thunder.
