Sunday with the Gryphons
Playing their second game of the weekend in just over eighteen hours, the Kitchener Lady Rangers travelled to the “West End” to play the Guelph Gryphons.

Playing their second game of the weekend against a quick and tough Gryphons team, the ladies capitalized on their first power play of the period to take an early first lead. A missed “house” assignment along with a shorthanded goal against had the ladies down by one heading into the break. Although starting the third on a power play, the ladies gave one up on a nice solo Guelph effort. Two more Ranger power play goals (yes that was three!!) had the game tied with just over a minute left in the third. Much like last Sunday’s game with the Roadrunners, with just “twenty-five” seconds remaining, the Gryphons scored to take the lead for good (yes, games still remain a full forty-two minutes).

Although executing on a season high three power play opportunities (well done!!), somewhere between Waterloo and Guelph some of your “compete” was lost. Drills at practice and reading / understanding the Technical Package all play an important part in every game. As we continue to make injury adjustments remember to keep things simple. Skate hard and work hard and the rest will take care of itself.
