Saturday February 25th
Eagles VS Bears
Tonight was the first game since the London Tournament. It was going to be an epic game, as we were down 4 players and our goalie, for the select team tournament. Still hyped from the tournament, they were ready to bring their “finalist” game play. With 3 of the 4 defensemen away, two players had to drop back, which left only 2 forward lines and 3 defense for the entire game. Eagles had The Giants goaltender filling in.
First period was a great battle by both teams, finished out scoreless.
Second period, at 7:29 #91 Banton scored the first goal of the game. Goal assisted by #15 Peplow. Two minutes later the Bears tied it up. This finished up the second period, with the score tied at 1.
Third period saw the boys really digging into their reserve energy. Tired and exhausted the Eagles somehow put three more goals on the board. At 9:50, #91 Banton scored his second of the game, assisted by #11 Bell. Then at 7:43, #91 Banton, buried his third of the game, giving him the Hat Trick!!!! Then at 4:27, #77 Godfrey jammed in the rebound for the Eagles 4th goal of the game, assisted by #91 Banton and #6 Ruth.
Final Score: 4-1 Eagles
Later in the Locker Room ALL Eagles and the substitute Goalie were awarded the Player of the Game Pylon, for playing their hearts out, even though the bench was shortened.
