Saturday March 18th
Eagles VS Giants
Back to back weeks, playing the Giants. We went into the rink hoping the Eagles could keep their momentum from their last win against the Giants, but as the game started, we could quickly see, this weeks Eagles team was not the same as the week before. It was clear, they were having a “March Break Hangover”.
First period the Giants came out fast and hard and clearly wanting redemption from last weeks loss. At 6:14 #4 Price of the Eagles and #15 Thompson of the Giants collided in the corner digging for the puck. During the play the Giants player lost his glove and continued to play, thus receiving a penalty illegal equipment…according to the game sheet anyways. With 3:45 left on the clock #10 Pittaway opened the scoring with a great deke on the goalie. 40 seconds later the Giants responded and tied it up.
In the second period the Giants quickly scored their second goal, to take the lead 2-1. But at 6:34 #91 Banton tied it up and then at 3:30 #91 Banton scored the go ahead goal.
Heading into the third, the Eagles were in the lead 3-2. However half way through, the Giants were able to tie it up. Then with 3:01 left on the clock the Giants scored the game winning goal. The Eagles just could not seem to mount a come back and lost.
Final Score: 4-3 Giants
Later in the Locker Room #91 Banton was awarded the Player of the Game Pylon for scoring 2 goals.
