Playoff game #7 vs St. Catherine's
This was a tough game as we spend too much time in our zone

Well Ranger Red fans, with only 3 playoff games remaining we need to step up our game. Although we only have 3 games left, the fat lady hasn't sung her song yet. As a team, all we can do is control our own destiny, we need to win and not worry about other teams helping us, if we don't win we sink our own ship.
Today we just didn't show up to play hockey, we didn't pass the puck very well, our legs weren't moving to well, we lost most battles along the boards and as the Defensive Coach, I have to say our defensive core unit really needs to step it up a notch. We need to clear the front of the net better and not allow the opposition to get the rebounds or be able to stand alone, untouched, in front of our net. We need to be more proactive or maybe even a little more aggresive in front. Remember defensemen, you won't get a penalty for moving someone from in front of the net. Our defensive core unit must also protect the blueline when we're in the offensive zone, forwards can't pass the puck to you if we're standing outside the blueline.
On a possitive note, we did better getting shots on the net and trying to shoot for corners. The coaching staff noted that many of our quality scoring chances ended up by us shooting right at the goalies crest which is an easy save for the goalie. Today we could see they were looking to the open corners. Keep shooting, they will find the back of the net, I promise you. Jackson played an outstanding game today making numerous saves and at times standing on his head. Aslo, James played strong while he came into the game and held us in there. Great job goalies, keep it up as we will need you to continue to play well.
Big game on Monday vs Hamilton at Sportsworld Arena, come ready to play and to play hard not to mention to walk away with 2 big points.
