Blue Wins 3-0 in Waterloo.
On a day the coaching staff challenged the team to make the second pass, Team Blue responded in spades, and downed the Waterloo Timberwolves 3-0. The score does not reflect the dominance in play Blue had throughout the game. Team Blue used all the ice to frustrate the opposition.
The first shift was important, as Shaun, Olivia and Robbie took the puck deep, created chances, and set up Blue for the rest of the game. The team fed off this and kept the puck moving in the TimberWolves end.
Although we had many chances it took 6 minutes into the game before a power play marker by Shaun got us started. Shaun banged in a rebound from Jared's shot and Jack's pass. Jared got our second goal late in the second, as he banged in a rebound from Cliner's shot.
Our defence (and backchecking forwards) continued to frustrate the opposition by limiting their opportunities to score. The shots they did have were turned away by a very confident Cameron "The Shark" Bailey.
Jack and Ethan stood out this game on the back end, frustrating the opposition, as well as kickstarting the play in the opponent's zone. Well placed shots and perfect passing was the order of the day for these two.
Our third goal was scored 4 minutes into the 3rd. I believe I saw the replay last night on Sports Centre. Mac took the puck deep on the left side, found Robbie open in the slot, and Robbie one timed a slapper past the Waterloo goalie.
A great all around effort by the entire team.
Looking forward to seeing it again today against the Phantoms!
Go Blue!
