Blue Celebrates Fans and Win over Phantoms!
It was Sibling Appreciation Day at Sportsworld on Sunday. Team Blue thanked their fans and skated away with a 5-2 win over Hamilton.
The game started well, but a penalty put us back on our heels, and out of sync for most of the first period. Shaun got us going with a jamb after Robbie's shot with 3 minutes left in the first. That fired us up and we spread the ice and passed the puck. Tristan put us up 2-0 early in the second, after winning the puck in the corner and throwing it towards the net. Just goes to show that good things happen when the puck is shot on net. The helper went to Moose.
The Phantoms got back within one, less than a minute later, when the puck went in off the faceoff. Moose scored the eventual game winner with a beauty shot with the assist going to Josh. Jared made it 4-1 on the power play when he muscled it in after skating out of the corner. After Hamilton scored to get within 2, Cliner rounded out our scoring with a misfire that fooled the goalie.
It was nice to see the offensive firepower in a game when our D were not as sharp as usual. It just goes to show it takes a Team to win a game.
Next up for Blue are two home games against Burlington Saturday and Brantford on Sunday.
Go Blue!
