Keep it Simple - Pass the Puck!
Team Blue travelled down Highway 6 on Friday night and skated away with a 4-2 victory over the Hamilton Phantoms. They were asked to keep it simple, spread the ice, and pass the puck, and that's just what they did.
Friday night road games are never easy to play. Our focus going into the game was to move the puck to our teammates. At times we may have been guilty of over passing, but that's much better than individual play.
All Team Blue players performed well, but special mention to a few. Big E, for taking the passing game one step further and looking to see where his teammates were before receiving the puck. Ody, for stopping the Phantoms at the line, time and time again. Josh, for using his strength to clear the puck and his speed to catch up with the play. Cliner for adding a delay in the offensive zone to his game, and finding his linemates in front of the net.
Finally, to Mac, for having a heart twice the size of any Phantom player and causing havoc wherever he skated.
Our first goal was scored on the power play by Mac as he skated in off the wing and shot, with the assist to Ody. Moose got on the board with the assists to Mac and Ryan. Mac scored his second of the game, unassisted and Josh rounded out the scoring with a blast with the assist to Olivia.
Great job Team Blue. Keep doing the simple things well and success will follow.
Next up for Blue is on Sunday at 9 when we face the Ayr Flames.
