The Kids are Alright!
Team Blue finished off the round robin portion of the playoffs with a perfect 12 and 0 record after a 4-1 win over the Waterloo Timberwolves. Blue came out of the gate passing and playing heads up hockey and the result was never in doubt.
Team Blue was led by a strong group of defenders who kept the Wolves at bay and spearheaded the offense. Congratulations to Big E, Wentz, Cooker, Jack, Odi and Zam for a great game. Big E was especially strong at the offensive end with a goal and 2 assists.
Jared and Shaun led the forwards with strong games at centre. They won almost every faceoff and found their linemates, which led to many opportunities to score.
Josh got us started late in the first with a shot from the slot with assists going to Jared and Jack. Jared tipped in a big shot from E for our second goal late in the 2nd with the other assist going to Shaun. We only took the foot off the gas for a short time in the 3rd which led to Waterloo's captain puting one behind a very steady Shark. Big E blasted one from the point 2 minutes later to seal the deal, with assists to Shaun and Ryan. Olivia scored on the same shift with a blast to the top corner with assists to Shaun and Big E. 3 point afternoons for both Big E and McGruber!
A great effort to finish the round robin! Looking forward to seeing more of the same in our semi final matchup against St. Catherines or Waterloo Ice Wolves.
