Winning Culture #2 (Hitting the Reset Button)
At times in a season a team will have a performance it wants to forget. There are many factors (lack of focus, not committing to defensive systems, etc.) that come into how a total team let down can occur.
So is there anything to learn from a "bad game"? Yes, we always learn from our losses even when they are ugly. Some would say we learn more about ourselves and our team when we lose. The important aspect for the team is to first let go of the anger or disappointment but also realize that losing that way will not be accepted by the group. The team will need to review its systems and non-negotiables that are set by the coaching staff. Then practice those aspects discussed and continue positive communication throughout the team. This will help prepare for the next game and get the team back on track. The key to a Winning Culture is knowing you have to earn each shift, period and game during a season.
