Crossfit and Team "Swagger"
This past weekend we played the 4th place team, the Brantford Saints and we finished the weekend with a session at Crossfit Kitchener.

On Saturday we matched up against the Brantford Saints in league play. We were looking for a better effort against Brantford after our slip up in effort against Kitchener Red. We came out of the gate hard but Brantford matched us step for step very well. We held most of the play with the puck but Brantford showed their league best goals against by turning our shots aside in the early going. The boys boys never gave up taking a 2-2 tie into the final period. We played our most complete game of the season finally beating the Brantford goalie in the third to break the 2-2 tie. We eventually went on to win the game 4-2 with a solid effort. The boys deserved that victory and left it all on the ice.

Sunday saw the boys head over to Crossfit Kitchener. The boys were introduced to head trainer "Murph" and his demanding style of coaching quickly took hold. Murph put the boys through high intensity agility and core strengthening exercises that left the team gasping for air. This was not for the faint of heart, losing 2-3 boys at various times during the hour long session due to exhaustion and in need of a break. The work rate of the boys was incredible to see and they all worked so hard. *****Note .......the boys who didn't eat properly or before this session knew after the first 10 minutes they were in trouble and would have to dig deep to finish this session.

We all learned that focus, determination, drive, and hard work is the mark of a champion and championship teams put in the hard work on and off the ice to be successful. This further entrenched what the coaching staff has been working on with the boys and that is playing and practicing with a "championship mentality" and the differences between "swagger" and "cockyness"
