Wild Finish at the Buckeye Classic!
Down 2-0 in the championship game, the team was in tough against a very strong Bantam team from Louisville, Kentucky. After playing well in the preliminary games, and a 1-1 tie against the same squad, the Rangers were down to their last period and time was running out.

With minutes on the clock the boys tied up the game and sent it to overtime. A five minute overtime didn't solve the matter so it went to a shoot out where the 10th shot finally decided the game in favour of Louisville.
Despite coming up just short of winning the tournament, the second place finish against very stiff competition was a great test for the Kitchener squad. The team made the long trip to Columbus, Ohio to participate in the Buckeye Classic and also took in the Blue Jackets vs. Flyers game and also saw the Ohio State Men take on Wisconsin at the beautiful Jerome Schottenstein Centre - an 18,000 seat venue at the university.
The weekend tournament gave the team the chance to play opponents from Ohio, Pittsburgh and Kentucky. The chance to be on campus, particularly just after Ohio State clinched the national football championship was a fun opportunity for the team to see a first class college program in action. After the exciting on and off events of the weekend the boys are ready to finish their season successfully at home.
