Taming the Mustangs
A 3-2 game, back and forth scoring, breakaways - good game, if you saw it you know what I mean.  It's good to get another one early in the season even while we're in our building stage.  It's even better when you take one from the team that was sitting second in points in the league.

The Mustangs opened the scoring late in the 1st.  Chloe faced a number of odd man scoring opportunities, but in true 'Price' fashion, she turned most of them away, frustrating the opposition.  Avery scored midway through the second with a good drive to the net with an assist from Taylor (like that D to center connection).  The Mustangs countered with another goal only a minute later to regain the advantage.  The scored remained this way until Sierra scored her first of the season making a strong move to the net with assists going to Cayla and Brittany who moved up to wing for the game.  There were a few nervous minutes while Taylor faced a couple of breakaways, but was equal to the challenge denying them - one with a great blocker save.  Avery finally scored a clutch goal with 5 minutes remaining in the game with another assist by Sarah (nicely done Sarah!) and we somehow managed to hold on to take the victory.  Next we meet another strong Waterloo team on Halloween day  at home - if it's anything like last night's game, it'll be scary.  Well done Blue!
