Playing their second game of the
weekend, the Lady Rangers travelled to the Cambridge Sports Park to face the
Roadrunners.
Playing their best first period against the Roadrunners all season, the ladies were rewarded with a late first period marker. Penalty trouble then set in as the ladies played ten of the next thirty minutes short- handed. The Roadrunners capitalized on several of these opportunities including a third period “5 on 3”. Leading by one with just over a minute to play, failed defensive zone coverage lead to the tying goal with the extra player advantage.
Like the Ravens, the road to the Play Downs will have to go through the Roadrunners. At some point, penalties will prove costly. There were many great plays and opportunities over the last two games. Continue your hard work, tighten up some of the small points and you will be successful. There will be no passengers on our bus.
