Rangers Muzzle the Bulldogs
Game Captain Daniel Deckert led the Rangers Red onto the ice against their Highway 6 rivals the Burlington Bulldogs.

The Rangers Red weekend goal explosion continued with a 5-0 win against the Bulldogs of Burlington.  The Rangers broke the ice in the first with a laser beam from the faceoff dot from the stick of Sean Disbrow assisted from Tyler Andrews.  The Rangers moved the puck well in the first and created a number of chances to score with all lines firing.

A parade to the penalty box in the 2nd period with 7 minors called saw most of the period spent on special teams and the Rangers capitalized on the power play on a beautiful goal by Sam Clark who powered through a couple defenders and used his speed to beat the Bulldog netminder assisted by Rowan Dunlop.  The Rangers held the fort on the PK with some excellent work from the D and Forwards to keep pucks to the outside and force the Bulldogs to take shots from long range.

We took a 2-0 lead into the 3rd and the coaches discussed keeping our heads cool and keeping the pressure up in the 3rd to try and put the game away.  The boys did just that with no penalties taken in the third and 3 goals scored!  Eric MacPherson on a sweet individual effort danced around the Bulldogs D and with a fake shot and backhand deke lit the lamp to make it 3-0.  Brock Smith followed this up with a ripper from the high slot with the helper going to Eric MacPherson who sprung Smith through the middle.  Disbrow finished the night with another laser beam shot from the opposite face off dot to take home 2 goals on the night.

Two of our defensive pairings were mixed around and Alex Hamilton playing in his first game of the season for the Red, Blue, and White played a solid game on D shutting down bulldog forwards and making some great heads up passes to create some offence.  Tyler Andrews and Ethan Goetz were standouts in the D zone and on the PK all night long.  Owen Stewart made some great outlet passes, dangerous rushes, and playing tough in the Rangers end all game long which earned him the Workhorse of the Game.  Nathan Hancock though not tested often in this game was more than up to the task to keep the Bulldogs at bay with some key saves when needed and withstood 4 powerplays including a 5 on 3.  Hancock takes home his 2nd win of the season and his first shutout.

The road trip for the Rangers has been strong so far with 10 goals in two games and only 3 goals against.  The road warriors continue their journey to Halton Hills on Wednesday night, keep up the hard work boys!

Go Rangers Go!
