Oakridge Classic: Game 2
Oakridge Classic Game #2
Friday February 17th
Eagles VS New Hamburg Huskies

The Eagles hit the ice with enthusiasm and hopefulness, after their win earlier that morning.  During Game 1, #66 Nanuti took a slap shot off the shin and discovered it left a large cut on his leg, after the game.  The team was excited to see him back after spending the afternoon in the ER, getting 5 stiches and the "all clear" from the doctor.

The first period was fast and rough.  The Huskies came out attacking the puck and going hard into the corners, which seemed to take the Eagles off their guard.  By the end of the first period there was no scoring.

Around the 4 minute mark of the second period, the ref was getting ready to call a delayed penalty for interference on #31 Massecar, the Eagles goalie, however the Huskies scored before the Eagles could get control of the puck.  The score was 2-0 for the Huskies heading into the third period.

The Eagles had to start fighting hard for the third period.  It was apparent that they were going to have to up their game and play with a little more intensity, if they wanted to come back.  However, with only scoring 1 goal at 5:53, from #10 Pittaway, assisted by #6 Ruth and #16 Horn, the Eagles just came up short.

Final Score: 2-1 Huskies

Later in the locker room #44 Ramcharan was awarded the Player of the Game Pylon for great fore checking, back checking and putting in 100% effort on every shift!
