KMHA: Policy # F1

Title:
Refunds

Rational:
The Refund Policy of the KMHA must be responsible to both the player requesting the refund as well as the players remaining in the associations that may be affected by a players choice to leave after the beginning of the season.

Policy Statement:
KMHA will fulfill refund requests on the following conditions. All other requests will be declined. An appeal to this process can be made to the board of directors when supported by a Vice President of the organisation.

  • A full refund with no admin fee will be given to a participant in a KMHA development program (Hockey Beginnings, Learn to Skate, Lady Ranger Rookies, Intro to Goaltending) prior to the start of a session where the player is not ready to participate in Hockey and wishes to register for a future session.
  • A prorated refund will be given to a participant in our development programs (Hockey Beginnings, Learn to Skate, Lady Ranger Rookies, Intro to Goaltending) where the session has begun. The prorated refund will be based upon the date that the refund request was submitted and will include a $25 admin fee.
  • A Full refund less an $80 Admin fee will be given to a participant that requests a refund prior to the start of a KMHA Regular Season. The start date is determined to be the first Try-out or Player Evaluation associated for the program you are registered for.
  • A Prorated refund will be awarded to a participant that ceases playing hockey for a Regular Season; has a doctor’s note and a Hockey Canada Injury report completed by a current KMHA Trainer, and requests a refund prior to Jan 10th. The prorated refund will be based upon the date that the refund request was submitted.
  • A Prorated refund less an $80 Admin fee will be given to a player with extenuating circumstances that have been approved by the KMHA Executive Committee at the next regularly scheduled meeting. The prorated refund will be based upon the date that the refund request was submitted, assuming the player ceases participation and does not return to play. If so the refund would be the later of the date the player ceases playing or a second request is made.
  •    A Prorated refund less a $50 Admin fee will be awarded to a participant that ceases playing hockey for a 4on4 Season; has a doctor’s note and a Hockey Canada Injury report completed by a current KMHA Trainer, and requests a refund.
  •   No refund will be given to a player that has withdrawn from a KMHA program without a board approved cause after the start of a season.
  •  No refund will be given for Tryouts unless a doctor’s note is received indicating the players inability to participate and the player in question is not selected to a team.
  • A KMHA admin fee for refund can only be waived by making application to the KMHA General Manager, who will forward the request to the KMHA finance committee for consideration. A decision will be communicated by the General Manager.
  •   A refund for the Kitchener Ice Pirates will follow all of the rules above but will be limited to a $50 admin fee.
