KMHA: Policy # KJR - 4.3

Title: AAA Waiver Policy - U10 to U13

Policy Statement:
Non-residents of Kitchener will be allowed to be signed to a KMHA AAA roster as per conditions stated below:

1. Non-Residents will pay the non-residents fee in addition to the full registration and additional Rep player fees to KMHA upon “signing” with the team.
2. All KMHA Rep teams will carry a minimum of 17 players including 2 goaltenders.
3. AAA Non-Residents must possess an approved waiver to attend tryouts and be considered.
4. AAA Waiver players must possess the skills consistent with this age group.

The purpose is to develop players within KMHA and not develop players from other centres. KMHA wants to continue down the path of developing from within.

If a coaching staff is considering more F1 waiver players than listed below for the age category, they require approval from the Director and Vice President. Approved Waiver players will automatically be released to their home centre at the end of each season.

Waiver players released from KMHA AAA teams must return to their home centre. They will not have the option of playing a lesser category of hockey in Kitchener.

  • U10 and U11 – 1-2 F1 Players can be signed

  • U13 - 3 F1 players may be signed
  • U14 - 3 - 4 F1 players may be signed
  • U15 and Older please review with your Chair and Coordinator
  • **F1 is understood to be synonymous with "non resident player"
