Stats from the Round Robin portion of Cripps Tournament
Here's a few stats from the round robin portion of the tournament (and other observations from this season):

- Speedy Yee gets his first goal of the season!!!  Awesome! He also logs an assist in the same game against the Grey team.

- Pearson earns a goal and an assist in the 3 games, including the tying goal against the Yellow team!  We'll need you in the semi's!

- Schleimer racks up an impressive 5 points (3 goals and 2 assists) in just 3 games. Wow!

- Mighty Starr gets 2 assists, both in the game against the Grey team.

- Kuch earns a valuable assist to his already great season!  Never forget that assists are just as good as goals - setting up the play is often more important than the goal itself.

- Bentley is an integral part of the Pearson / McMillan / Bentley line that continues to deliver results game after game.  He was in on the play that scored the tying goal against the Yellow team!

- LaCoste always plays hard, never giving up!  Recently he's scored two goals and an assist, all in December!  Many runs at the net and scoring chances this tournament!

- Thornton takes one for the team, ending up with 2 in the box during the game against the green team.

- McMillan logs a goal and an assist so far this tournament!  He played a significant role in the tying goal against the yellow team!

- Hicknell, with 2 goals this season and some gritty penalty minutes, is always a force to be reckoned with.  He's been giving it all he's got this tournament and we'll be looking for some Hicknell muscle in the semi's!  Hicknell earns an assist for setting up the first goal against the Yellow team!

- Todd dekes out the goalie for a sweet game winner goal against the Green team!

- Wood provides stability and focus to the Todd / Thornton / Wood line, which has impressed throughout the round robin part of the tournament!  Always with defense in mind, he quickly moves back to provide a third defender this tournament!

- Wright racks up 2 minutes in the box, and gives the team a huge scare in game #2, but comes back with a vengeance in game #3 with a solid contribution in the 2 - 2 tie!

- Martin always is there when you need him, and he didn't fail to deliver, scoring a much needed goal in the 2 - 1 win over the Green team!

- Hahn digs deep in the corners and puts an immediate stop to a few scary situations in front of goalie Venning during this tournament.  Keep it up!  We need that brute Hahn muscle in the back end to advance in this tournament!

- Stingy Venning let in only 4 goals over 3 games, a tournament goals against average of 1.33!!!  For the entire season, his goals against average improves to an impressive 2.36, and  has steadily decreased from a (quite low) high of 2.78 on December 3rd.  Way to go Venning!  Let's compare to the Leafs goalies (as of 12/29/11):

Gustavsson = 3.28
Reimer = 2.94
Scrivens = 2.96

Way to go Red!  What a team!  We're playing as a team and winning as a team.  Keep it up during the semi's and hopefully the finals!!!
