Jr Rangers Crowned in Kingston
The Kitchener Jr Rangers Novice Red won the Kingston Canadians tournament on Oct 23rd 2011

The Rangers dropped the first game of the round robin 2-1 to a steady Vaughan Rangers team (& a hot goalie). But the Reds re-focussed and showed great character by bouncing back with two very strong wins to finish the round robin with a 2-1 record and carried a lot of momentum into the Semi Final game vs the host Kingston Canadians.  In a spirited affair, the Red squad remained focussed and got the job done with a 4-1 victory punching a ticket to the final on Sunday morning vs the undefeated Vaughan Rangers.

Each game as tournament progressed, the Jr Rangers showed a little improvement & advancement in their consistency, intensity, focus & effort.   It all came together for the Reds in the final with the best game the team has played so far this year.  With a very quick start and a goal on the first shift the Jr Rangers maintained pressure & battled hard for the entire game beating Vaughan 6-0 to take the tournament.

Congratulations to the Novice Reds not only for your first big victory together as a team, but for showing leadership, perseverance, & determination.  Your awesome effort earned you the championship.

The Jr Rangers are back in action next week where they take their undefeated 5-0 record in the Alliance regular season into Waterloo and Hamilton.

Great job team .... Coach Mark
