Playoff Game #9 vs Ranger Blue
Huge win over Ranger Blue may sink their ship to advance to next round on playoffs
What a exciting game to watch and a bit of a nail bitter at the end. The boys came with their game faces on to put a little stall in Ranger Red's playoff momentum. Our job today was to beat Ranger Blue and make them earn their way to a playoff spot and not just to let them walk over us to get into the next round of playoffs. After today's loss, Ranger Blue must beat Hamiton in Hamilton and hope that St. Catherines beats Waterloo in Waterloo tomorrow on the last day of this playoff round. Incase anyone is interested, Waterloo plays St. Catherines at Albert McCormick at 4pm on Sunday if your interested in going to cheer on St. Kitts as hopefully Blue will win in Hamilton and St. Kitts beats Waterloo to have Blue advance to the next round.
Today's goals went to Nick with the first one and House with the second one and again House with the eventual game winner, assists went to Stewart, Blake and Cohen. Great Job guys and well earned goals and assits. Jackson, once again had a strong game. Mr. Bowman's goalie coaching is certainly paying dividends as both our goalies have played well down the stretch not to mention throughout the entire season.
I was very happy with the entire defensive unit, they played very well and made great strides forcing the oppostion to stay to the outside and forcing them to make unnecessarry poor percentage passes. We protected the front of our next fairly well for the most part. We blocked shots from both offective players and Jacob sacrified his ankel for the team to block a potential tying goal. Blake and Drew had awesome games also, great job defence, we'll need the same effort against Brantford.
The offensive unit played a great game also, great up ice passing, caused confussion in front of their net and kept pressure on them and won some great battles along the boards.
Tomorrow will be our last game of the season for Ranger Red, lets keep this streak alive and come to the game ready to play hard and make Brantford work and not let them have an easy win. Remember, your only as good as your last game or for that matter, your last shift, finish hard and strong and go into next seasons tryouts on a high and possitive note.
Unfortunately Coach Bob will unable to attend the game against Brantford as he has prior commitments so I will be filling Bob's shoes against Brantford so I know we'll all be ready to finish the season off with another big win too.
Good luck against Brantford, I know we'll do great.
