Minor Midgets Advance to Semi Finals
The Kitchener Jr. Rangers Minor Midget AAA club advanced to the Alliance Semi Finals after eliminating the Lambton Jr. Sting in Quarter Final playdown action.
The Jr. Rangers and the Jr. Sting battled to a hard fought 5 game series.
The series started last weekend with Kitchener hosting Game 1. The home side came out flying and took the series opener 7-2. With games 2 and 3 being played in Lambton mid week the Jr. Sting continued the home winning with 4-1 and 3-1 victories respectively to take a 2-1 series lead.
Home ice advantage continued in game 4 where the Jr. Rangers played a solid home game at Activa arena Saturday afternoon posting a 3-1 victory to knot the series at 2 wins apiece.
The Jr. Rangers followed their performance up 24 hours later on the road with a strong team game to win 5-1 and win the Quarter Final series 3-2.
The Kitchener Jr. Rangers will face either the London Jr. Knights or the Chatham-Kent Cyclones in the semi-finals.
