What a Weekend!
This weekend showed what our boys are made of. They came back from a tough loss to claim 4 points out of six!
First game against the Kitchener Black was not our best. The energy on the ice was not up to our usual level. We had some glimmers of determination, but it was too little too late. We ended up losing 4-2.Our grinder for the game was Ashton, he skated hard through the whole game and made some great defensive plays.
The second game was against Hamilton Green and the boys came to play. You could feel the excitement in the dressing room from the beginning of the game. We scored first which gave the boys an even bigger boost of energy. They just kept on rolling despite the not so sportsmanlike play of the other team. They kept their heads and came out on top winning 2-1. BTW the goal to break Callum's shut out was a very unfortunate bounce off a defenseman's skate. Tyson played a great game, flying up and down the ice. A well deserved grinder.
The final game against Kitchener Blue was another tough contest. The boys worked hard, never gave up and moved the puck well. We also had some very good back checking again! The boys are really playing well together and as a team, looking out for each other on the ice and the bench. The grinder for this game was Callum for his great saves earning him a shutout and leading us to victory 3-0 over the Blue!
On a side note. It's really ice to hear the compliments, the pick ups and the general comradeship the boys have been displaying. We are proud to coach these boys and to watch them learn and grow as hockey players.
