LEAGUE CHAMPS & ALLIANCE CHAMPIONS !!!! 58 - 5 - 3 ...........What A Season Boys!!!!

KJR Atom MD Red rolled into London for the 25th Annual West London Byron Optimist Competitive Tournament.   It was a great chance for the team to compete against some teams from the West Alliance.   The team got off to a great start winning all 4 round-robin games without allowing a single goal.   The team extended their winning and shutout streak, beating North London Nationals 6-0 in the semi-final match. 

KJR Atom MD Red was one of sixteen MD teams entered in the Brantford 46th Annual Wayne Gretzky International Tournament.   To win the division, it was going to take 7 games over 4 days.   Day 1 saw the Rangers pick up their first two wins with 6-1 win over Flamborough Sabres, followed by a 5-3 victory over the Paris Wolfpack.  Day 2 started early, but got off to exciting start with the team loading up their gear onto the OHL Rangers' bus.   The boys travelled in style for the day on their way to two more wins against Stoney Creek Jr. Warriors (5-3) and Ajax Knights (6-2).

On Sunday December 6, the Major Atom MD Red held a "Hockey Bag Carry" fundraiser at Activa and Sportsworld. The team's goal was to raise $500 by offering to carry other players' hockey bags to or from the arena for a donation to Donna's Kids.  The event was a great success, with lots of positive feedback from local and out-of-town teams. In the end, the players and parents raised $765 for Donna's Kids while having a great time together.   

KJR Red rolled into Pittsburgh for some tough matchups in the Veteran's Cup. In the first game of the tournament, the team came out a little flat after sitting around until late Friday to play.  The game ended in a tie 3-3 against Halton Hills Thunder MD. After the game, the coaches and players discussed the team's performance and the players committed themselves to come out with a better effort in our second game. Facing a stronger MT Lebanon Hornets AA team, the boys knew they were in for a tough game against the home team. The boys came out on fire and battled hard for an impressive 4-1 ...
