Our Minor Atom Red team has had the good fortune to have three AMAZING Major Peewee AAA Rangers helping teach our players at our Wednesday morning 6:30 am practice.
For three 12 year old boys to willingly want to get up early and come help younger players, says a LOT about their character. Evan, Hunter and Kyle have this fantastic attitude and work ethic that sets such a positive example for our players that it can only become infectious for our boys.
We finally had an opportunity without a conflict on our two team calendars to get out and cheer the Major Peewee AAA team on. The Peewee boys/girl, yes I said girl and she was AWESOME to watch... showed our team just what a team that plays together and believes in one another should look like. Mike Nicoll, the Head Coach of the Peewee team invited our boys into the locker room as well as a few players to participate in the pre-game skate leading his team with the Ranger Flag! Mike had name plates made for their stall and included four of our boys in his team experience. Thank you to Dean DeSilva for giving up his Minor Midget locker room so both teams could experience what it is like to be a part of that special environment! The teams were reminded by Coach Mike that with continued hard work, they may also be members of that locker room in the future.
The Rangers went on to beat Hamilton that evening 3-1 and our team was cheering LOUD and PROUD with their blow horns and other noise makers. We like to think that our boys were the AAA good luck charm, however by the look of it that team doesn't need luck with all the skill and work ethic they possess!!! Way to go teams!
