Rangers Create Hurricane
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Blue team continued to show their strong offensive play with a convincing 7 to 0 win over the St. Catherine’s Hurricanes Saturday morning.

Jacob Reid-Brant led the charge with another multi-goal game. Reid-Brant had 2 goals and an assist in the game. His first goal was assisted by Freddie Law, who made his MD debut for the injured Carter Schade, and Kodi Blackshaw. Reid-Brant’s second goal was set up by the Player of the Game work horse, Keenan Hack and Connor Pinos.

Aydan Costello opened the scoring in the game from Reid-Brant and Blackshaw. Connor Coughlin scored from Jack Masters and Ethan Lafleur. Masters then added a goal from Noah Roden and Blackshaw, who picked up his second assist in the game. Evan Peori continued to show he was dangerous with the puck. Peori is constantly skating with his head up and his goal came from a dominant cycle game by Spencer Bulyaki and Masters. Kalium Belanic closed the scoring from Lafleur and Coughlin.

The defensive pairing of Andrew Bishop and Noah Park were yet again solid and played hard for the Rangers. The two defenders have become very reliable and win all their board battles.

Hayden Smith earned the shutout and it was well deserved. The Hurricane came to play and had some solid scoring chances in close, but Smith was there to shut the door.

The win placed the Rangers in first place in the league and firmly in 5th in all Ontario in the early going. The Rangers have had a strong work ethic and have been aggressive in puck pursuit. If they continue to play this style and work at playing their coaches system, there is no doubt the Rangers will find success.

Go Rangers!
