The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Blue team are the Motown Cup Champions after beating the Oakville Thunder 5 to 2 Sunday evening in Detroit.

The Rangers didn’t have an easy path to the being champions but went undefeated in the tournament with a record of 4 wins and a tie. Due to some teams backing out the Rangers found themselves in a loop of 6 teams with 3 being from the 2004 age bracket. Once the round robin was completed the team accomplished advancing in the Tier 1 grouping as the only 2005 club! The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Blue team scored 7 goals in back to back games with a 7 to 2 win over the North London Capitals Sunday afternoon.

It was also back to back two goal games for Jacob Reid-Brant. Reid-Brant put the Rangers up 1 to 0 from Noah Park and then tied the game at two from Keenan Hack and Evan Peori.

Kailum Belanic also continued adding to his strong start with a two-goal game earning Player of the Game honors. His first goal was set up by Ethan Lafleur and his second goal was a beautiful end to end rush undressing the goalie. Read More

The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Blue team continued to show their strong offensive play with a convincing 7 to 0 win over the St. Catherine’s Hurricanes Saturday morning.

Jacob Reid-Brant led the charge with another multi-goal game. Reid-Brant had 2 goals and an assist in the game. His first goal was assisted by Freddie Law, who made his MD debut for the injured Carter Schade, and Kodi Blackshaw. Reid-Brant’s second goal was set up by the Player of the Game work horse, Keenan Hack and Connor Pinos. Read More

The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Blue team shocked the MD Red team by storming back to tie the game 3 to 3 with three unanswered third period goals.

With the Rangers trailing the game by 3 to 1 with 1:25 remaining the Blue coaches pulled the goalie for the extra attacker and it paid off. Jacob Reid-Brant scored back to back in the third period. His first goal came with 4:09 left from Aydan Costello and Ethan Lafleur. His second, at 1:25, was unassisted. Noah Park and Connor Coughlin set up the tying goal by Evan Peori with only 3.3 seconds left in regulation.

The Player of the Game Award went to Rangers goalie, Aiden Radatus, who made key saves throughout the game and did a fantastic job battling for loose pucks and moving side to side tracking the puck. Read More
