Rangers Knock Off Rust
The Kitchener Jr Rangers Select Blue returned to action after nearly a month without a game and had some rust to work off in a 3 to 0 loss to the Centre Wellington Fusion.

Rashaun Williamson played an outstanding game for the Rangers. Williamson was solid defensively and a constant threat offensively as well.

In fact, the Rangers defense was strong all game, and several players stuck out for the right reasons. Ethan Shular and Logan Hock were again a solid pairing and Colin Starr was dominate at times. The pair of Evan Skipp and Dezi Deneau have become one of the most reliable pairs as well.

Meghan Wright was, as always, solid between the pipes and always gives her team a chance to win the game.

The game wasn’t as decisive as the score may lead you to believe, in fact, there was times the Rangers carried the play and dominated possession.

In particular, the line of Will Halter, Jacob Ancich and Ryan McConnell, gave the Fusion fits with their passing and cycle game. Both Freddie Law and Braeden Buck used their speed to force the Fusion into coughing up the puck. Michael Rogoz broke the Fusion D and almost capitalized as well. Tyler Oude-Voshaar had several fast rushes into the zone and his line mates, Brett Herniman and Shawn Parliament, both had solid scoring touches.

The Fusion are a mixed minor and major bantam team and only carried a few 2005 players. The Rangers did a good job against the older squad and will continue to build towards their Alliance goals.

Go Rangers!
