Rangers Roll Right into Finals!
The Kitchener Jr Rangers Select Blue have reached the Alliance Championship Finals after winning their semi final match 6 to 1 against the Waterloo Wolves Sunday afternoon.

Ryan McConnell and Colin Starr both had a pair of goals for the Rangers and Zackary Wick played great in net for the Rangers to get the team into the finals.

With only two goals against so far in the tournament the Rangers have proven yet again that strong defensive play wins championships and the team will need to play together to take home the banner.

McConnell opened the scoring from Jacob Ancich and Evan Skipp. Starr scored from Braeden Buck and McConnell had his second from Ethan Shular and Brett Herniman. Starr’s second goal was a power play goal from Buck and Ancich. Michael Rogoz had nice a goal from Shawn Parliament and Herniman before Will Halter had his 20th goal of the season from Starr and Tyler Oude-Voshaar on the power play.

When the team talks about their solid defensive game it’s led by Logan Hock who has been a beast for the Rangers as well as Rashaun Williamson and Dezi Deneau. However, it is the play of forwards like Freddie Law who was back checking and breaking up plays all game that makes the team so effective. It has truly been the play of 17 that has the Rangers in the finals.

It will be the second time the Rangers and Wolves faceoff in the tournament and if the first game was any indication, a 1 to 1 tie, it is expected that it’s a tight hard-fought game. The Rangers will need to play tight defense one more time and ensure they move the puck and play as a team. Should they commit to the system the coaches have no doubt they will reach their goal and raise the banner!

Go Rangers!
