The Kitchener Jr Rangers Select Blue team opened a home and
home series against the Cambridge Hawks with a dominating 5 to 1 early morning
win Saturday.
The Rangers defenders were air tight and deserve a lot of the credit for the win for how effectively they moved the puck out of the zone. Evan Skipp, Ethan Shular, Logan Hock and Rashaun Williamson were all fantastic.
Meghan Wright was solid between the pipes yet again and didn’t give up many second chances as she frustrated the Hawks.
Three players had multiple point games to help lead the charge. Jacob Ancich had a pair of goals and his line mates, Will Halter and Ryan McConnell, both had two assists in the game as the trio continued to build chemistry and take fans out of their seats.
Tyler Oude-Voshaar showed off his hands converting a nice Brett Herniman feed to open the scoring. Oude-Voashaar had patience and skill as he went back hand to control the puck and direct it into the net. Braeden Buck continued to roll with a goal from Freddie Law. Shawn Parliaments hard work keeps paying off. Parliament drew a penalty and then took to the power play to get his revenge scoring from Dezi Deneau and Michael Rogoz.
Colin Starr, a.k.a., the Rangers Swiss Army Knife, played both as a forward and defender and his speed and skill was dangerous all game.
The Rangers moved the puck well and for an early game had some nice jump in their play. Sunday the team will look to close out the season series with another win but will need to not play too confident and be willing to put in the necessary work.
Great job Ranger!
