Round Robin Game #4
Saturday March 25th
Eagles VS Bears
Game 4 of the Round Robin. The Eagles were looking for a win, to clinch first place for the semi-finals.
First period took a little while for the boys to get going. But at 6:14 #91 Banton opened the scoring, assisted by #14 Gavin. Then at 3:48 #44 Ramcharan got the second goal, assisted by #66 Nanuti. With just over 2 minutes left on the clock #11 Bell scored in an open net, after #10 Pittaway rang one off the back boards. Just 40 seconds later, the Bears responded and scored one of their own.
Headed into the second period the Eagles were up 3-1. At 6:31, #66 Nanuti netted one, assisted by #9 Hancock. Shortly after the Bears got their second goal of the game. Then at 2:20, #11 Bell scored his second goal of the game, assisted by #91 Banton.
Going into the third period Coach encouraged the boys to pass the puck around and give scoring opportunities to players that hadn’t scored many this year. And with that, the boys had a different goal to achieve! At 9:20, #4 Price scored a back door goal, for his first of the season…the crowd erupted! Goal assisted by #66 Nanuti and #14 Gavin. *Now EVERY Eagle player has scored at least one goal this season!* Then 55 seconds later, #10 Pittaway rushed the puck and jammed one in the net. Then 17 seconds later, #91 Banton popped another one, assisted by #77 Godfrey. Then 8 seconds later #9 Hancock rushed into the zone and scored another one. Then 20 seconds after that, #23 Whalen buried a rebound. So basically, the Eagles, in less than 2 minutes, scored 5 goals. At 4:43, #10 Pittaway scored his second goal of the night, assisted by #66 Nanuti and #15 Peplow. With 1 minute left in the game, #91 Banton, scored his third of the game, giving him the hat trick… Way to go!! Goal assisted by #9 Hancock.
Final Score: 12-2 Eagles
Later in the locker room #31 Massecar and #4 Price were awarded the Player of the Game Pylon. #31 Massecar, for holding down the fort in net and playing an awesome game!! #4 Price for scoring his first goal of the season and playing a great offensive game.
*Previous Year End Tournament Pylon recipients were awarded KMHA Hardest Worker Dog Tags as well*
