Blue secures playoff spot!
Team Blue travelled to St. Catherines this morning for another must win game and came out on top 7-0. The win puts us in the playoffs and keeps us in 2nd place.
Although the score would indicate differently, St. Catherines gave us everything we could handle in the first period, and if not for Vance making a key save in the first and another early in the 2nd we could have found ourselves trailing. Our team finally got on the board early in the 2nd and the floodgates opened. Ethan R led the team with 2 goals, with Adam, Daniel, Seth, TJ and James each getting one.
When this team smells blood, they get hungry, as the goals came very quickly after getting the first one.
Congratulations to TJ for winning the Blue Helmet for his great defensive work in the first two periods and then notching a goal at centre in the third.
On to Waterloo tomorrow with a chance to clinch second place and make it harder for Waterloo to make the playoffs.
