Team First!
With Team White adopting a new cheer and attitude, we travelled to the home of the Hamilton Tigers on Saturday night. Although the end result, a 6-3 loss, was not what we were looking for, our play in the first 2 periods was everything the coaches could ask for.
White came out strong, sticking to their lanes and passing the puck up. The Tigers didn't know what to do with us as they chased us around the rink. Strong play by Michael thwarted the few chances that Hamilton got. Cole got us started late in the first, with Preston following that up to put us ahead 2-0. With the score tied 2-2 Maddux once again put us ahead with a great individual effort.
Unfortunately at that point our game changed and we became the chasers instead of dictating the play. Remember Team White, we need to play "Team First" hockey for 35 minutes to be successful. The coaching staff was very proud of your first 20 minutes - unselfish hockey, that produced many scoring chances for us and few for the opposition.
Congratulations to Stormy for his White Bucket win - outstanding stand up goaltending. Belated congrats to Logan and Olivia for their White buckets in our games against Blue and Burlington Red.
