3 out 4 Nets Silver Medal!
Novice White went international for the second time in 5 weeks and visited Detroit for the Motown Cup.  Lots of hockey, shopping, pizza and good times were had by all and when it was all over we lost a close game to the Riverside Rangers 3-1 in the final.

The weekend started off well for White with a 7-2 win over the same Riverside Rangers.  The game was closer than the score indicated, but we skated well, passed the puck, and got lots of shots on net.  Our goaltending was stronger with Stormy having a great game.  Goals were scored by Cole with 2, Marko, Nick, Pep with 2, and Preston.  Assists went to Sam, Jared with 2, Pep, Cole, Logan, Lucas and Nick.  The White Helmet went to Maddux for his 2 goals, and assist and his leadership on the ice.
Game 2 was Saturday afternoon against the Milton Winterhawks.  The Hawks were no match for Novice White as we skated away with a 6-0 win.  Goals were scored by Nick, Lucas with 2, Cole, Sam and Marko.  Assists went to Max, Cole, Jared, Preston, Ben and Lucas.  White Helmet winner was Lucas, who was a force all game long on the Left wing.
Game 3 got off to an early 7:30am Sunday start, which meant a 5:30 wakeup call for our Rangers.  Although not a dominating game we skated away with a 6-1 win.  Our team was too big and too strong for the Super Sevens from Markham.  Goals were scored by Nick with 2, Lucas, Cole, Preston and Jared with assists going to Cole, Preston, Max, Sam and Lucas.  White Helmet winner was Ben for his steady and headsup defensive play.
Novice White ended up First in the round robin and we were off to the Finals.
Our 5:30 wakeup got the best of our Rangers in the final against Riverside.  Our superior team play was not present at our 2nd game, against a familiar opponent, and led to a 3-1 defeat.  I think we had many tired players in our lineup for the final and although we left it all on the ice, we weren't able to overcome an early 2-0 deficit. Marko scored our lone goal.  Chase played a stellar game in net for our Rangers.  After giving up the two early goals, he stood tall and gave us a chance to get back in to the game.  Chase was our winner of the White Helmet.
A great weekend for our Rangers and a fun weekend for all.
