Oh What A Night
Friday night game in Hamilton was a good start to the weekend for the boys. Big thanks to Mark for filling in and doing a good job up there with Antonio and Aidan. Antonio and Aidan had a lot of chances and capitalized on some but sometimes left us wondering what happen and how did that not go in. The Hamilton goalie played very well. Speaking of goalies Connor played his first full game last night and although he only faced seven shots he was good when he needed to be. Especially early on in the game when he faced a flurry of shots and stopped them all. He also stopped a couple breakaways to keep us in the lead.
Owen potted a goal last night by sliding the puck along the ice to beat the goalie down low. Nice shot Owen. He was on a line with Cole and Maddux that worked really hard. Cole breaks down the wing with such speed and power its great to watch. Maddux had a beauty goal when he broke in past a defenceman for a breakaway deke to beat the goalie. NICE. Jack M came out with rockets on his skates he was skating so fast I think I saw flames come out of his skates at one point. lol He also had a few really nice dipsy doodles around there defense and put one past the goalie with a nice wrist shot. Quinten and Logan both played well together as well. Logan had some good moments rushing with the puck and even some really good backchecking. Go Logan go. Q had a few really good plays where he deked a few players in a row. Great puck control Q keep it up. :-) Scott saw his first game on defense and played as I thought he would really solid. At times I thought he was a forward lol but he hustled back as hard as he could and kept the puck in the opposite end when he had to. Good puck control in our end Scott. Nathan was a beast out there and his shot is getting harder so whatch out forwards. He was getting the puck up with power and thats what we want. Such a big boy I am sure some kids don't even want to go near him. lol Keep it up Nathan. Angelo is so good with the puck and when he winds up for his killer wrist shot I cant wait to see what happens. He also had some good rushes with the puck and he made a lot of nice passes up to the forwards. Ben played well clearing the front of the net and getting the puck up to the forwards so we can exit the zone and create scoring chances. Keep working hard Ben. Overall good game for the boys. Still a few things to work on but I was happy with the end result and the boys overall performance. Luke is still out with a lower body injury and he can't wait to get in the line up and we can't wait to have him back. Sam had his appendix removed last week and will be out for four weeks. We wish you a speedy recovery Sam and we will see you soon.
