Player of the Game
I thought we played a good game today. The girls were asked to work on a couple of things and for the most part soaked it in and we saw some great improvements. We just seem to get all the bad bounces this year, but the main thing is the girls appear to be having fun.
Sophie is one of my favourite players to teach. I always look forward to seeing her smile and appreciate her attitude, never complaining and always trying her best. I was able to be around her last year, her first year of hockey, and have seen her grow from chasing the puck around the ice to being the amazing defence that she has steadily become. Today we watched another evolution in her growth by carrying the puck from our end to through the neutral zone, not just once but three times. Every time we carry the puck and don't just shoot down the ice we learn valuable lessons to do it again the next time. I look forward to seeing what kind of a hockey player Sophie will be by the end of the year and years to come.
