KJR Player and Parent Information Session
The players and parents of the 17-18 Minor Midget AAA hockey club received some valuable information regarding their upcoming season last night.
Mike McKenzie, General Manager of the OHL Kitchener Rangers, spoke to our group about the upcoming season, what the scouts look for and expectations for players wanting to play in the Ontario Hockey League.
Justin McCombs and Cole Schwindt were members of the 16-17 KJR minor midget program and spoke to the players about their upcoming season, their experiences and the adversity that players will face. The message was loud and clear from these young men and we wish them luck as they attend Sarnia (Justin) and Mississauga (Cole) OHL camps this weekend.
Nic Hague a member of the 14-15 KJR minor midget program spoke about the next level. He touched on the importance of carrying yourself away from the rink, how you prepare, train, hydrate and rest. Nic also spoke about the expectations of the Program of Excellence and his experiences with the U17, U18 and World Jr. programs. Nic was drafted to the Vegas Golden Knights and will be attending his first NHL training camp in September.
Dr. Rich Ennis, sports psychologist, spoke with the players about the love of the game. We are blessed to have Dr. Ennis work so closely with our program.
The KJR Minor Midget AAA family would like to thank our speakers for taking time out of their busy schedules to provide outstanding information to our players, parents and coaching staff.
