Rangers End Playoffs Undefeated
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Red team finished their playoffs with a 6 to 2 win over the Brantford 99ers to finish undefeated.

The Rangers will play the Waterloo Wolves Black team in the semi round of playdowns. In the playoffs the Rangers collected 28 out of a possible 30 points and in doing so swept three teams and took 5 of 6 points in the other two match ups. The Rangers scored a league high 62 goals (25 more goals then the closest team) and only allowed 18 goals against in 15 games.

Jacob Reid-Brant reached 35 goals on the season (also recorded a team high +87 this season) by scoring twice in the game with Yianni Peppas drawing an assist on each goal. Connor Coughlin and Kodi Blackshaw had assists as well.

Ryan McConnell sniped a beautiful goal from Nicholas Zammit and Coughlin to open the scoring. Ayden Costello scored from Daniel Gubbels and Reid-Brant and then Gubbels scored from Reid-Brant and Coughlin before Coughlin scored from Jacob Fisher and Logan Hock. This all occurred before Reid-Brant’s pair of goals.

Aiden Radatus was tested more frequently then the Rangers had expected and made several great stops for the Rangers. Radatus had his 22nd win on the season and continues to have a great playoffs.

The Rangers defence, Keenan Hack, Kailum Belanic, Noah Park, Blackshaw and Peppas did an exceptional job once again and played another game short, if fact, the Rangers forwards were short too. All the Rangers centres spent a period filling in on left wing and did great.

The coaches would like to congratulate their players on their hard work and commitment this season. It has been an honour for the coaches to work with such an amazing group of young men.

Go Rangers!
