Rangers Red Take Game 1 of Finals!
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Red team opened the play down finals against the Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Blue team with a 5 to 1 win.

The Rangers Red started sluggish and went down a goal early when Riley Roeder scored. However, Carter Niall showed pure determination short handed and willed his way to the net for the tying goal and the Red team never looked back.

Connor Coughlin scored the winner from Kailum Belanic and Kodi Blackshaw. Ryan McConnell had a power play goal from Nicholas Zammit and Noah Park. Jacob Fisher had a beauty from Blackshaw and Logan Hock and Jacob Reid-Brant closed the scoring from Niall and Aydan Costello. Daniel Gubbels was flying out there for the Red team as well and was a key player for the Red team.

Yianni Peppas was solid again for the Red team as was Keenan Hack. All the Red defenders worked hard and logged big minutes. Braxton Mathews played one of his best games of the season and was sliding side to side very well. His rebound control was exceptional, and he motivated his team with his solid effort.

As pleased as the coaches were for the Red team the team understands they have won nothing and respect the energy and intensity of the Blue team. The Red team will need to tighten up and play to their potential to close things up tomorrow.

Its been amazing to witness the team work as hard as they have on and off the ice this season and the team now has the opportunity to see the benefits.

Keep up the great work Red!

Go Rangers Red!!!
