Novice Blue has started the 2018/2019 season with an exciting and busy schedule.
The boys started out with a dryland training, team-building event. On the ice, they got started with a successful stretch of games against Waterloo, including two exhibition wins over Waterloo Black, and a tie against Waterloo Gold to kick off the regular season.
This weekend the team participated in the Stratford Early Bird Tournament and started the tournament strong with a 12-0 win in Game 1. A loss in Game 2 had the boys fired up and ready to go for Saturday where they won the last round robin game 9-2 and the semi final 5-0 to reach the team’s first final.

The final game was a hard-fought rematch against a tough Scarbourough opponent. The boys had to overcome some adversity throughout the game and battled hard to go up 3-2 with 3 minutes left in the game. Unfortunately, Scarbourough used the momentum from a late penalty to tie the game with a minute to go, and eventually got the winner in overtime.

All parents and coaches are proud of the players for having a great attitude, showing sportsmanship throughout the tournament, and battling hard. A great start to the season!
