Tough loss ends season for Team Blue.
It came down to the wire, but Team Blue did not have enough last night to defeat Burlington and extend the 4 point series.

Blue got off to another fast start with Daniel finding the back of the net on the first shift.  Burlington came back with a goal 3 shifts later and we carried the tie into the second period.  Burlington went ahead in the second and this time we battled back with Dawson tieing the game.
Despite many chances, Blue was unable to get the go ahead marker and Burlington scored the winner late in the third.  The last whistle came with 2:32 left in the third and unfortunately we could not get a whistle or out of our end for the rest of the game.
Our hats are off to Burlington who was a formidable opponent throughout the year.
My hat is off to our boys for a great season.  Remember our 0-11 start?  Remember our tournament win in Flamborough? Remember our run in January, February  and March, when it all came together and we competed in every game we played in and won most of them.
It's been a great ride Blue.  A team that struggled with positioning and scoring for half the season turned it around and became a positionly sound team and the top scoring team in the playoff round robin.  Our goals against in the playoff round robin was second best in the loop thanks to solid defence and top flight goaltending.
Our season may be over, but the future looks bright for the boys on the MD Novice Blue team.
