Mad Dog Leads Team White to Victory in Burlington
An inspired game by our away Captain led to a 5-2 victory over Burlington White. The win gives Team White a 2-1 record, good for 2nd place early in the round robin playoffs, with a goals for and against advantage over Burlington.
Our team got off to a slow start on Saturday with Burlington scoring in the first minute of play. Sam got that one back halfway throught the first period with some great digging from Nick and Pep. Unfortunately Burlington scored again late in the first and took a 2-1 lead into the break.
We entered the second with a re-focused Stormy and it was game over for our opponents. White controlled the play for the rest of the game with Pep running ragged over the opponents. A hat trick by our captain and a single from Olivia resulted in our come from behind 5-2 victory. Assists went to Logan, Marko and Ben. Special mention to Sick Man and Smitty for their great two way play. Also to Jack for his steady defensive play. We welcome back Cole from his vacation in Jamaica and welcome Wentz back to D for next week's games against Black and Hamilton Spitfires.
White helmet winner was Mad Dog Pep. Looking forward to seeing Pep playing at that level for the rest of the season.
