Montreal Tournament Champions
Game #1, Friday morning we met our local competition in Brantford 99ers, a very good game that started a little slow as both teams were probably tired from the drive the previous day. The 2nd & 3rd period were entertaining with some really good hockey played by both teams, in the end our boys did what they needed to do with some great play, passing and finishing, and with very strong goaltending behind them. 5-3 Win
Game #2, the boys had a very physical game Friday afternoon against a big, strong Kahnawake Mohawks team, the boys played some exceptional hockey with great goals, team play and again strong goaltending when needed. A well deserved win. 5-2 Win
Game #3, the boys dominated this game against a DDO Civics team that were shocked in the first period at the speed and skill of our boys. it was a well deserved win from start to finish. 6-1 Win
Game #4, The finals was a re-match of our third game against DDO Civics with them coming more prepared to play against our team, we started out very quick but DDO Civics settled in and made a good game of it, it was nervy from both teams throughout the second and start of the third, unfortunately with 8 minutes to go in the third there was an incident with 1 of our players and 3 DDO players being ejected with 2 more DDO players having to serve the ejected players penalties. The DDO coach was left with 6 remaining players so he forfeited the game with 8 minutes to go and we winning 3-2 which was the score at the time of the incident. 3-2 Win
The boys absolutely deserved to win this tournament from Friday through to Sunday. The boys played some of the best hockey of the season, tremendous team play, great goaltending and had fun throughout all 4 games. It was unfortunate not to finish the final game but the boys are the tournament champions all the same and deserved to be crowned.
